Women's struggle for equality was a long, hard and a stressful battle for several years and it's still going on today. Women wanted to help make money and prove that women could work as hard and long as the men could and that their home and farms depended not only on thei husband but them as well. Women wanted to help and although the men wanted them to stay away, women fought for their right's to be able to work, even if that meant being a teacher for a few black children at a time. As time went on women slowly began to gain the right's that the have today.
The Civil War was a main reason things started to change a little quicker for the women as they began to gain more rights. The reason the Civil War began was for a few different reasons. One of the main reasons was States versus federal rights. This was important to women because it gave them hope that they would someday have the same rights as males even though they knew it would be a long hard battle to get there.
